I went back to Chicago for a week for Christmas. For the last several years I attended a New Year's drawing marathon downtown, but I decided not to go this year. Maybe it's all the Japanese I studied over the years, but I like the idea of starting the year off right with a lot of good momentum--kagami-biraki or kangeiko.
